Sick of seeing articles about fuel panic-buying in Australia or Pauline Hanson’s most recent brain fart (her latest call is to defund the ABC). Or perhaps you only have limited empathy for affluent families who have had to cancel their Dubai holidays. 

Here at Ette Media, we understand these stories are of public interest, but it's the breathless repeated coverage of the same story, the same angle and the same people that gets our noses slightly out of joint. Even more so when you consider the stories much of the mainstream media missed.

ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan

It’s always complicated to discuss stories in which sexual misconduct allegations are cleared or dropped, especially when those accused are men in high places. 

This particular story is a huge deal because Karim Khan is the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. The allegations were levelled as Khan was pursuing a war crimes investigation against Israeli officials over the genocide in Gaza. He strenuously denied the allegations and took voluntary leave.

Khan had sought arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and then defence minister Yoav Gallant in May 2024. Six months later the allegations were made.
