A 25-year-old recently-arrived migrant from Kenya, who came to Australia to study a masters in accounting, died while working as a cleaner at Meriton Suites. Her family are demanding answers. There was a rally in Sydney and her case has been raised twice in her the Kenyan Parliament. And yet, Australian media hasn't picked up this story. We work through the factors that determine whether a news story is covered to try to understand why this story — which has been reported on internationally — has been ignored. CORRECTION: the Canberra protest was cancelled last minute and didn’t go ahead.
