Between the Belfast riots, the Strait of Hormuz closing again, One Nation’s *gestures to everything*, and moderating (ahem, deleting) social media comments… sigh. As you read this my phone will be tossed in the ocean and I will be cuddling kitties at my local cat shelter. This is a proven way to manage the psychic damage of being a journalist.

Most people across 36 countries have negative views of Israel and little confidence in Netanyahu, Pew Research Centre

A new survey by the Pew Research Centre has found that 79% of Australians hold an unfavourable view of Israel — the highest in the “western” countries surveyed. If you're surprised by this finding, it may have something to do with the  journalism our country produces given the 2024 Monash study which found Australian media outlets with the largest followings on Instagram had a pro-Israel bias.
