Dearest Etterati,

I somewhat stumbled into my first journo gig at a local paper in Fyshwick, Canberra, of all places. I stuck with it because, even though there was $0.71 in my bank account, I got to interview brilliant, caring community leaders who were all trying to make their corner of the world a little less shitty.

Jan and Antoinette often end the pod by reassuring you, Etterati, that you’re not crazy; the state of the world is. What I’ve fallen in love with about indie media is that it’s full of brilliant, caring journalists trying to make their small corner of the news landscape a little more sane.
