Ettention Please: stories that didn’t get enough coverage this week

From federal government 'genocide grants' to an acclaimed actress considering legal action against WA police to a cheeky stunt that highlights a dark reality for supermarket goers.

It’s hard writing the intros to our Ettention Please round-ups in these trying times because my impulse is to begin with a comment about what a rough and tragic news week it’s been, which unfortunately seems to be the case every week. So now I sound like a broken record.

This week, the news was dominated by reporting, analysis and opinion pieces about Israel’s barbaric massacre of hundreds of Lebanese people. The bulk of the reporting was — at best — managerial (if I see one more outlet comment on the bombing in terms of strategy rather than death toll and human impact I am going to scream) but there is some pushback to our media’s apathy as well from ... you guessed it: Jan Fran.  Here she is speaking to Al Jazeera's Lyndal Rowlands.

We also saw headline after headline on the arrest of disgraced soldier Ben Roberts-Smith, the usual speculation regarding One Nation polling and a slew of articles, interviews and TV packages on fuel prices.

There were some stories that were missed in this exhausting week that we think should have gotten more (or even any!) coverage. Check them out below:
