Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has been away this week for the UN General Assembly summit where he desperately tried to get Australia a seat on the Security Council.
A whole lot of news, ranging from scary to ridiculous, has come out of the summit — including Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s office responding to accusations of genocide with an AI-generated bird meme, Albanese calling for global guard rails on AI, and US President Donald Trump calling for the fall of Cuba.
There is, understandably, a lot to keep up with so here’s some of what you might have missed this week.
